If you ask wether it is possible to store conversation history on the server (additionally to locally saved by the client), then there are 2 options: use built-in audit policy logs (not in readable format, xml, though you can use a reader made by community members http://community.igniterealtime.org/docs/DOC-1874) or install Monitoring Service plugin (though i can't recommend it strongly as it tends to stop working without reason for many users and it will make you database grow fast). No option to import client side xml into server.
